This is a game for a class I took in Autumn 2024 called COMMLD 501.

The assignment was to create our personal community map. I decided to express my map as a playable video game rather than a static representation. Not only was becoming a video game designer my sole career ambition my entire life, but so was becoming a narrative designer in particular - somebody who tells storytelling through gameplay.

My map is laid out literally like a map of a video game dungeon, with a 4 floors to represent 4 major eras of my life. Both strong and weak ties connect like rooms in the dungeon. To illustrate the difference between weak and strong ties, I generally made weak tie rooms further away and smaller. The strongly tied rooms also generally contain more substantial gameplay challenges, as a metaphor for the effort required to maintain strong ties compared to weaker ties.
